Is my email being saved on my machine or cloud?

Normally your emails are stored in the cloud, even deleted emails are kept in the cloud for 30 days. If you are using POP the emails are downloaded to your machine off of the cloud and it can only be recovered within 7 days. IMAP keeps a copy on both the local machine and on the cloud.
